Overview:

Loma Linda Fire Station No. 251 serves a population of approximately 24,000 residents. But this number swells to over 60,000 citizens as employees, students, and direct care workers from neighboring communities flood into the city.

Our challenge was to maintain Fire Station No. 51’s rapid response emergency service while completely gutting and rebuilding 4,055 of their 12,674 square foot fire and rescue facility.

We installed safety barriers, surface protection and dust-controls prior to selective demolition. And we maintained protections and kept the site in broom-clean condition throughout the duration of the project.

New plumbing, electrical and HVAC services were installed, coordinated with critical IT and communications cabling.

The offices and living quarters were reconfigured to meet Green Building Standards and Title 24 ADA Accessibility requirements. Tactile signage, expanded access doorways, showers and bathroom modifications were constructed. New metal-stud partition walls were built beneath an updated suspended ceiling system with energy efficient LED lighting.

We created three new offices, a new reception area, foyer, and dedicated IT Hub. The facility also now features a fully outfitted fitness gym, new dayroom, and a modernized break room and kitchen pantry. We finished the newly remodeled Fire Station No. 251 with texture-painted walls, new office carpeting, vinyl plank tile flooring and vinyl base trim.
